Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, November 5, 2013- Last Sunday, Team Garneau-Quebecor was presented with the 2013 Road and Track High Performance Club award by the Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes (Quebec Cycling Sports Federation) for the second consecutive year.
For its first year of racing at the Continental America level, the team has showcased its talent and shown determination and character, as stated Remi Pelletier-Roy, who was present at the Distinction Gala to receive the honors on behalf of the whole Garneau-Quebecor team. "Winning the title of the best high performance club in Québec two years in a row is proof that the team doesn't just add up results with luck, but rather thanks to a combination of different individual talents, a strong team spirit and an outstanding management. The 2014 season will be full of surprises with the arrival of foreign riders and the return of several of our stars!" he said.
For several years, Garneau-Quebecor has allowed a number of cyclists to develop and make it to the pros. This season, the team gathered several victories, notably the jersey of the most aggressive rider at the Tour of Alberta, a race that allowed our team to ride alongside the best cyclists in the world. Our riders also claimed no less than 3 Canadian Champion titles.
