CYCLOSPORTIVE GARNEAU-CASCADES 2ND EDITION

Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, March 31, 2010 - Louis Garneau, president and founder of Louis Garneau Sports; the Tour of Beauce organizers; and the Lemaire Brothers invite cycling enthusiasts to participate in the Cyclosportive Garneau-Cascases 2nd Edition on August 15, 2010.  All funds raised will go to the petits frères des Pauvres, an organization which provides lonely elders with friendly and affectionate company, and the maintenance of the Old Friends’ cottage located at the Lac St-Joseph as well as the Fonds Louis Garneau, which supports young athletes and artists in their development.

In addition, Louis Garneau is proud to announce that Pier Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Québécor Inc., will be the President of Honor of this event and will ride along with Louis Garneau. “It will be a pleasure for me to ride along with Pier Karl. We will keep close throughout this challenge. But you’ve heard about my competitive spirit, so be sure that we will try to have a good time performance,” remarks Louis Garneau.

Louis Garneau is proud to sponsor the Cyclosportive Garneau-Cascades. This 110-km ride will occur between Trois-Rivieres and Quebec City. The ride will depart, rain or shine, at the Alphonse-Desjardins Sportive Center in Trois-Rivières be on August 15, 2010 at 9 a.m. The ride will finish at the Louis Garneau Sports head office in St-Augustin-de-Desmaures.

The 2nd edition of the Cyclosportive will be, without any doubt, a real success. Organizers expect over 500 participants.  Entry fees are $100. New this year, the ride will be timed. Riders will receive a cycling jersey, a retail value of $90, specially customized for the event.
