Through advanced studies, it was determined that a reduction in the number of stitches on a garment has a noticeable effect on the aerodynamics of a piece of apparel. Because of this, Louis Garneau has implemented one-piece technology into the Elite Course Body Suit. One-piece technology offers a minimum number of seams for enhanced aerodynamics and comfort. In addition, the inner leg is seamless for comfort and is finished by a laser-finished hem at the thigh for increased aerodynamics. Laser Cut leg openings are produced by a cutting method using laser beams that eliminate fraying or the need for a hem. This hemless technology allows one layer technology that creates a smooth aerodynamic transition to the skin. A flap at the back is integrated to accommodate a race bib and reduce hindrance. A low-cut collar, long sleeves, and a longer leg length aren’t the only aspects that make this fit completely aerodynamic. The engineered fit was designed in the body position of a cyclist. This type of articulated construction eliminates excess materials and makes this suit completely second-skin-like. Made of Lycra® Pro, the fabric is adapted to the body in a way that offers a smooth surface with no interruptions, bunching, or excess material. Smooth surfaces reduce frictional drag and are crucial on areas such as the arms and legs. Treated with coldblack®, the fabric reflects heat and the fabric stays cool to the touch.
