MS Society

The Rona MS Bike Tour is a charity event during which Canadians has the opportunity to take part in a cycling event, held within a charming and often spectacular view of certain regions of the country. Over 10,000 riders are expected through the 21 one- or two-day  rides, held throughout Canada, from June to September.

Louis Garneau Sports is proud to participate in that event, during which he gave teams the opportunity to receive a customized garment to wear during the event. Moreover, Louis Garneau Sports donated, at the end of the season, an amount equal to 10% of customized products global sales made by the attending teams. Louis Garneau was the patron of the 20th edition in Quebec.



Ride to Conquer Cancer

In its second year, The Ride to Conquer Cancer has emerged as Canada's most successful cycling fundraiser. The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation announced that 3,530 participants from across North America allowed to raise $14.5 million during the 2009 edition in Ontario.

Louis Garneau Sports is proud to be involved as the official clothing sponsor of the famous Ride to Conquer Cancer in Ontario. Each team that took part in the event and wanted to have a customized jersey for the ride could benefit from a discount on their custom clothing order.



Breast Cancer Foundation

Louis Garneau Sports is proud to take part in the breast cancer control. Breast cancer is the #1 disease affecting Canadian women. At Louis Garneau, 70% of our employees are women thus making this cause close to our hearts.

For this reason, certain products specially designed for women and identified by a relevant logo have been selected in this collection in order to generate financial aid for breast cancer research. Research helps to find out breast cancer causes which will help one day to prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat it more efficiently.

For every Scarlett helmet, Freeshape FX Pulse snowshoe, and Olbia jacket sold, Louis Garneau Sports will donate an amount of the proceeds towards breast cancer research.



Les petits frères des Pauvres

Louis Garneau, President of Louis Garneau Sports Inc, is the spokesman of the Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly organization for over ten years, which mission is to provide friendly relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. They offer to people of good will the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.

In 2006, the St-Joseph Lake summer cottage of the Little Brothers opened thanks to many volunteers' and Louis Garneau's precious involvement. This cottage is located on the bank of the St-Joseph Lake in the province of Quebec, and welcomes the Friends of the Elderly to join them from May to September.

As an example, this year, a St-Jean-Baptiste evening show was held at the cottage. This activity allowed to raise $7,600 for the continuation of the cottage mission and for maintenance work that will be carried out next spring. Plus, the Cyclosportive Garneau-Cascades, held last August 2nd, 2009, also contributed to raise funds in order to support the Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly's activities.
