Event organizer Chelsea Midlarsky founded the Delray Beach Twilight Festival last year. The event, which features a nocturnal criterium, draws over 150 pro riders. "I was impressed with Louis Garneau's participation and involvement. He really helped take the event to another level," Midlarsky declared at the end of the weekend.

The next in the series of events, the Granfondo Garneau - Cascades, takes place on August 11, 2013 in Quebec City. Louis wishes the Granfondo Florida to be the beginning of a series of many granfondos all around the world.

Bruno Langlois (CAN) : Langlois has a history at the race with a 2nd Place Overall Podium at the 2010 Vuelta a la Independencia Nacional and 2 Stage Wins (Stages 7 and 8b) in 2012. Langlois will certainly be a contender this year.

Rémi Pelletier-Roy (CAN) : Pelletier-Roy won the 2012 Tour of Rwanda Prologue and is also a 3X national Track Champion.

Michael Woods (CAN) : New to the team for 2013, Woods formerly rode for Stevens Racing P/B The Cyclery and was 1st Overall at the 2012 Tour of the Catskills.
Pierrick Naud (CAN) : One of the younger riders on the team, Naud placed 8th in the 2012 Tour de Beauce for the Youth Classification.

Alex Cataford (CAN) : Cataford is the 2011 Junior National Champion for Time Trial.

Adam Farabaugh (USA) : Farabaugh raced in 2012 for Ekoi.com-Gaspesien. He was the 2012 Winner of the US National Criterium Championship for Elite Men.

The Team will officially be launched in April 2013.

Bruno Langlois, Rémi Pelletier-Roy, Jean-François Racine, as well as two members of Garneau-Québecor's West-Coast division, Tim Abercrombie and Jeff Werner will cover a total of 876 km during the 8 stages of the Tour. The Garneau-Québecor lineup will be racing alongside teams from the United States, France, and Belgium, in addition to various African squads.

Louis Garneau is particularly touched by the plight of the young Rwandan athletes who make up Team Rwanda's roster. They went from surviving the horrors of the 1994 genocide to having hope and excelling through their athletic ambitions. "The members of Garneau-Québecor are not only going to gain additional racing experience; they will also have the chance to be a real part the cycling frenzy that has reached Africa in the past several years.", says President and Founder, Louis Garneau. Garneau will also travel to Africa to cheer his athletes on during the final stages of the Tour of Rwanda. He added, "Without a doubt, it will be a life enriching experience for each one of them."

The Tour of Rwanda, which is categorized as a UCI 2.2 event, is becoming ever more popular. Cycling has been developing with unrelenting momentum in Rwanda. It has now become the most popular sport in the country,surpassing even soccer.

Louis Garneau Sports has been supporting Team Rwanda for the past several years. Team Rwanda is a project that allows a group of Rwandan athletes to be a part of a cycling team that enables them to train and represent themselves and their country, while raising awareness concerning Rwanda's situation. The support that Team Rwanda receives through donations, along with the athlete's intense enthusiasm, will make their dream of competing around the globe a reality.

Rémi Pelletier-Roy was present at the Gala des Mérites in order to receive the honors on behalf of the Québecor-Garneau team. Pelletier-Roy said he is proud of the performance of the team during the last season. "We really surpassed ourselves this year, including myself, Bruno Langlois and Antoine Duchesne". Teamwork allowed us to pick up several podiums. "After several victories and successes this year, the team shined, both at the national and international levels. The year 2013 will be all the more challenging, since the team will compete at the Continental level.

In addition, it is imperative for Louis Garneau Sports as well as Québecor to encourage these young people by supporting their Sport-studies programs so that they can properly combine cycling and studies, as well as prepare for the après-vélo transition, when they end their cycling career and will turn to their professional future in the fields they have chosen.

The rear pocket opening allows for easier access to the content of the jersey pockets and eliminates the need to transfer belongings once the vest is removed.

Let's start with what's inside this short, first.  Team Europcar riders will ride the patented 5 Motion chamois.  This chamois is designed to provide multi-directional motions so common with Voeckler's trademark attacking moves.  By combining 3D preshaped wings with a bridged vented mesh split, the chamois adapts to the riders movements and positioning.  Mesh areas at the back and front wick moisture and prevent the moisture coming from the upper body to fill the chamois.  A carbon fiber bacteriostatic top layer wicks moisture and rids harming bacteria.  On the surface, a compressive fit is achieved by both fit and Lycra Power, a high performance compressive material.  Compression over the rider's legs is proven to enhance muscle support, increase blood flow, and reduce muscle soreness.  Treated with coldblack®, the fabric reflects heat and the fabric stays cool to the touch.  Laser Cut leg openings are produced by a cutting method using laser beams that eliminates fraying or  the need for a hem.  This hemless technology allows one layer technology that creates a smooth aerodynamic transition to the skin.

The second athlete is Bruno Langlois.  Bruno Langlois also debuted in the pro cycling scene with the Jittery Joe's Professional Cycling Team in 2005 and continued racing pro until 2011.  The 2-time Canadian National Champion medalist, currently rides for the Garneau-Quebecor Cycling Team but continues racing at a level that holds his place in the pro peloton. Langlois represents the only Amateur cyclist amongst the list of eleven men.  "I'm really proud to be qualified for the Canadian Olympic Selection Pool for London 2012. I have been training and racing my bike hard to be considered part of the best riders in the country. To be on this list of high level cyclists is for me a big achievement and a good reward for my hard work. Congratulations to Bruno Langlois, of the Quebec Division, who won first place at the Chain of Lakes Road Race, which was held on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Winter Haven, Florida.

On the West Coast, Jeff Werner, of the BC Division, also did very well with a second place at the River Road race, part of the dEVo Spring Series. Great way to start the season!

Louis Garneau has taken up the challenge to create a unique and live canvas, in front of those present, who could then bid to acquire the painting as part of the public sale and auction held to benefit the Fondation du Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.

The event took place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, in the great hall of the museum, where the audience could dance to the same music the artist listened to on his iPod during the creation of his two works. "It was a great challenge," said Louis Garneau. "It is certain that the public presence completely changes the context," he says with a smile, "but it was also memorable and very rewarding, allowing direct contact between the artist and the public at the very moment of creation."

Louis Garneau, who has decided that from now on all proceeds from the sale of his paintings will go to charity, has already donated a previous series of 12 paintings, "The World", to the Fondation, most of which have been sold already. A "Louis Garneau" currently trades at $10,000, bringing his contribution to the fundraising campaign of the museum’s foundation to approximately $120,000, not counting Saturday night’s production. Incidentally, one of his paintings is on display in Lance Armstrong’s bicycle store, Mellow Johnny's, in Austin, Texas.

After a cycling career filled with success leading up to the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, Louis Garneau the businessman has made his company, Louis Garneau Sports Inc., a Quebec success story selling its products in over 30 countries. Today, he turns back to his first love, the arts, an area in which he holds a BA from the School of Visual Arts from Laval University, and devotes some of his free time to painting while benefitting many charities and causes close to his heart, including the expansion of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.

This amount will help pay for work that needs to be done on the Friends of the Elderly cottage of Lac St-Joseph. This cottage started operating in 2005 and its goal is to enable isolated people adged 75 and more to enjoy some good times in one of the most beautiful sites in the Quebec City area. The activities organized there by the organization let lonely elderly people enjoy nature with volunteers who take good care of them.

Louis Garneau first got involved with the Friends of the Elderly organization approximately 15 years ago with well-known comedians such as Mrs. Juliette Huot and Messrs. Jean Besré and Paul Hébert. Louis Garneau supports the organization in several ways among which the donation of the profits generated by the annual Cyclosportive Garneau-Cascades. In 2012, the event will be held on August 12 and hopes to see as many as 2,000 participants, which would double the amount of the donation remitted every year to the Friends of the Elderly organization.

Team Europcar will also be wearing the Louis Garneau Vorttice helmet.  The Vorttice debuted on the market this year and can also be seen on the heads of some of the world's best athletes including Current Ironman World Champion, Mirinda Carfrae.  The Vorttice helmet has a texturized surface on the front of the helmet similar to that of a golf ball.  This surface helps to achieve better laminar airflow.  Small blades at the top of the helmet create vortices that energize the laminar layer resulting in improved performance.

Tara Whitten took her second consecutive title at the Women's Omnium. The omnium is a multiple-race event and with races held back to back with little time for recovery. Ce montant permettra, entre autres, d’effectuer des rénovations au chalet des vieux amis au lac St-Joseph. Le chalet des petits frères des Pauvres a débuté ses activités en 2002. Il a pour but de permettre aux personnes isolées, âgées de 75 ans et plus, de passer du temps en plein air dans un des plus beaux sites de la région de Québec. Les diverses activités, mises en œuvre par l’organisation, permettent aux gens dans l’isolement de mettre le nez dehors et de s'entourer de la nature et de gens qui peuvent s’occuper d’eux.

Louis Garneau helmets also domed the heads of 4 of the Top 15 spots, pro men and pro women, including team TBB athlete, Caroline Steffen. Steffen's placed 2nd Overall for Pro Women and had the 4th fastest bike split of 4:59:23.
